Mission:
Our goal is simple, to ensure our kids are understanding and talking in our own mother tongue! And as they progress with our Shala, they can read and write in Marathi, connect with grandparents, and participate in various Marathi cultural programs we have. All in all, it’s all about getting better with our own language!
About the Shala:
The Marathi Association of Minnesota’s Marathi Shala offers a comprehensive Marathi language learning program promoting Marathi culture. The Shala runs annually from September to June, following the public school calendar.
We provide basic to advanced classes to help students of various ages develop skills in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing Marathi. In addition, we offer a Marathi music class that includes balgeet, shlok, and prarthana to enrich our students’ cultural connection.
We also welcome adult learners who are interested in learning Marathi.

Registration/Admission Requirements:
- You must be a MAM Shala Registered Student to participate in the MAM Marathi Shala Programs
- Marathi Shala admission is required to participate in Shala music class
- The Annual Shala fees covers weekly MAM Marathi Shala sessions, weekly music class and year long MAM Shala events
Schedule:
MAM Marathi Shala operates following the USA public school calendar year, starts in Sept 2nd/3rd week, goes till Jun1st week and follows the USA public school holidays.

Shala Fee:
$130 per student per year
- The Annual Shala fees covers weekly MAM Marathi Shala sessions, weekly music class and year long MAM Shala events
- Payment can be made either through Zelle/Check

- $30 discount will be provided if you are taking the Marathi Association of Minnesota 2025-2026 Annual membership in Diwali 2025(Please note, this discount will be provided in Feb-March 2026 after MAM membership consolation is done for the 2025-2026 year)
