Mission:
Our goal is simple, to ensure our kids are understanding and talking in our own mother tongue! And as they progress with our Shala, they can read and write in Marathi, connect with grandparents, and participate in various Marathi cultural programs we have. All in all, it’s all about getting better with our own language!
About the Shala:
We have 4 different class levels introduced this year along with our Music class. All classes are conducted virtually via a Zoom call. We are aligned with the BMM Shala curriculum and the kids have the option to appear for BMM Marathi exams based on the syllabus approved by Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune, India.
Weekly Hour long Class Levels, mostly on weekdays between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Basic
Basic understanding, talking, colors, animals
Level 1
Introductory – Letters, Words, Barakhadi, numbers, basic reading
Level 2
Reading/writing simple words, Making sentences
Level 3
Advanced Reading/Writing, Storytelling/writing, Grammer, Speeches
Music
Marathi Songs, Powade, Loka-geet

Shala Fee:
Member : $130 per student per year
Please send money via Zelle to “epaymam@gmail.com” and make sure to add the following in the Zelle payment and have the Zelle transaction number handy when you are filling out the Shala registration form.
Parent Name/Parent Email ID/Address/Contact Number/Mention as a “MAM Shala 2024-2025 Payment”
MAM would appreciate it if registration forms are submitted by August 20, 2024. This will give us a good idea of the student count and accordingly, we can order the books for them in time and be ready for September 2024 classes. Though we will consider year-round registration based on our Shala capacity.
